Matrix
Matrix is an arcade-puzzle hybrid. The gameplay is simple: align 3 or more similarly-coloured blocks together to eliminate then and score points. Sounds like a Columns clone you say? Far from it. Instead of manouevering blocks as they fall, you now pick up blocks individually and replace them elsewhere. All this while more and more blocks fall into the playing field at regular intervals. All this may sound extremely simple, but in reality it's pretty challenging. There are 3 modes of play, a one-player game of increasing speed (Tetris-style), competitive play against the computer or a friend, and finally the puzzle game where no new bricks fall, but you must clear the existing bricks using a limited number of moves.

This game demonstrates that low-resolution doesn't mean poor graphics. On the contrary; Matrix features some stunning visual effects and 3 dimensional, not bitmapped blocks. Coupled with Stereo sound and well-composed background music, it makes for quite an experience. - Gary Yeh
